Tristan and Cameron waking up with soreness is just the beginning for these two hobbyist skaters as "non-critical" surgeries are left in limbo.

"When I fell down I immediately knew something was wrong," said Cameron Clark, "my arm was just hanging and I was sweating a lot." After his collar bone was determined to be the issue Clark was brought to Winchester Hospital

"You looked like you were going to pass out by the time we got back to the car, I thought it was a concussion too," said Tristan Honnellio, Clarks friend and a fellow injured skater.

Honnellio broke his ankle attempting a new trick however perceived the soreness and pain as a sprain for a day (where he worked a sales floor shift) which he thinks exacerbated the injury. After getting a brace and scheduling a surgery he, along with Clark, have had to take it easy when on their boards.

"Well at first I was more stressed about losing my new job," said Honnellio, "but then there were these stay at home orders, and the social distancing policies, it just got to the point where it seemed more dangerous to go to the hospital"

Honnellio's surgery date to correct the healing in his ankle was scheduled three months out after his injury, however now with the pandemic affecting what medical professionals prioritize his minor, non-critical injury will have to wait.

"I'm glad I was able to get a sling for my arm right after I fell," said Clark, "I missed four weeks of work and three of class because of it, but I was able to heal very quickly... and don't need surgery, just have to do stretches in the morning"

Individuals with other non-immediately life threatening injuries are recommended to see urgent care or orthopedic injury clinics before entering emergency rooms with the risk of infection exponentially jumping for those entering, working in, or checking into hospitals it is urged to seek other options

"I just wish my doctor knew when they can see me." said Honnellio. "The date for my original surgery is coming up, and I haven't been able to reschedule."
